"On a chilly winter day in 2018, a fireside chat introduced me to the magical world of investing; I haven't looked back since."

Background

Prior to my postgraduate studies, I gained over three years of industry experience in the dynamic Indian tech startup sector, working on data science, machine learning and SaaS product development. I worked for a boutique AI research firm focusing on FinTech projects, where I delved into time-series forecasting, predictive modelling, and portfolio optimisation problems.

Subsequently, I took a leap and joined the founding team of Delloplus, where my contributions helped develop scalable and robust software solutions serving multiple stakeholders in the healthcare ecosystem, leading to a direct impact in improving the quality of service and ensuring continuity of care across India and other Emerging Markets. Working in a fast-paced, challenging environment helped me acquire a diverse set of skills and a solid understanding of various facets of managing a business, including finance, market research, strategy, business development, product development, and stakeholder management (internal and external). Above all, it strengthened my work ethic, problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and instilled in me an entrepreneurial and customer-focused mindset.

I also actively manage a diversified investment portfolio with exposure to equities, bonds, real estate, commodities and other alternative assets.

Curiosity to learn, to try, and to explore …

My master's programme ignited my interest in alternative investments, specifically hedge funds, commodities, credit derivatives and other structured products. As an enthusiastic learner, this curiosity further propelled me to pursue the rigorous Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) qualification to deepen my financial acumen. In 2023, I successfully completed the Level 1 exam with the strongest performance across all the topics. I aim to pass the Level 2 exam this year and progress toward achieving the prestigious charter.

During the summer of 2023, I competed in the WorldQuant International Quant Championship, where I developed superior systematic trading signals (alphas) by employing quantitative modelling techniques and leveraging access to 85K+ data fields from the proprietary BRAIN platform, covering fundamental, technical and alternative data. I represented my university in the global hackathon with 32K+ participating teams from all over the world, ranking first in Ireland, and subsequently progressing to the stage 2 European Regional Finals as one of the only 7 finalists.

I also obtained the Portfolio Manager Micro-Degree Certification from the Financial Edge Institute in London, which equipped me with hands-on skills in financial modelling, valuation (equities and fixed-income), portfolio construction, security selection and asset allocation. I put my learnings to practice in my role as a portfolio manager for the Student Managed Fund at UCD, overseeing equity research in the Information Technology sector.

Interests

I love football ⚽️, and Messi is the G.O.A.T, period! Proud supporter of Inter Miami CF, FC Barcelona, and LFC.
I also follow other sports like Cricket (of course, I’m Indian) and F1 Racing.

I enjoy reading 📖, mostly business biographies, finance, and thrillers. Some of my best reads in biographies include Shoe Dog by Phil Knight, Losing My Virginity by Richard Branson and Made in America by Sam Walton. Not surprisingly, all three of them are as good at authoring as they are in business, if not better (every good entrepreneur is an excellent story-teller first).

Some of the most influential industry titans I admire and look upto include Sir Ratan Tata, Ray Dalio, and Jack Ma.

I also love listening to music, strumming my ukulele, and hiking.

FIFA WorldCup 2022 was magical, to say the least!
